POSTPONED - Annie's Project Facilitator Training

  • Monday, March 23, 2020, 8:00 AM - 5:30 PM

Annie’s Project is a program which educates farm women on risk management through a six-week course designed to empower farm women to be better business partners through networks and by managing and organizing critical information. The Annie’s Project program is seeking interested individuals to become trained to serve as facilitators.

Agricultural service providers, such as Cornell Cooperative Extension, are encouraged to sign up for the one-day (8 hour) training to be held on Monday, March 23. The training will focus on the five key areas of risk on farms (financial, human resource, legal, market and production) and how to educate farm women to manage risk on their own farms. Best practices in facilitation are also included.

According to the 2017 Agricultural Census, 37.5% of agricultural producers in Madison County are female. This number would be significantly higher if the total number of women who are spouses, partners, or employees on a farm was included in that total number.Given this, the Annie’s Project program is particularly important in Madison County.

The cost of this course is $15.00 per person and covers registration, all course materials, lunch, and snacks. We will begin our day at 8AM on Monday, March 23rd, 2020. The facilitator training will be hosted at Cornell Cooperative Extension of Madison County, 100 Eaton Street, Morrisville, NY 13408.

Sign up for this training by registering at https://reg.cce.cornell.edu/APFacilitators_225 or by contacting Cornell Cooperative Extension of Madison County. Any other questions may be directed to Tess Southern at (315)684-3001, extension 101.
