RE: Cooperative Extension Seeks New Board Members

IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Cornell Cooperative Extension of Madison County (CCE) is currently seeking volunteer board members to replace outgoing members. CCE prides itself in having a diverse board of directors with board members that represent many skill sets. We are especially looking for Madison County residents with some background in agriculture, nutrition, youth development, legal, education, or marketing.

Current board member Linda Wimmer commented on her experiences, “Being on the CCE Board for the past 4 years has proven to be one of the most rewarding experiences for me. Community members should get involved and find out how important the cooperative extension is to our county.”

The mission of CCE is to improve the lives of individuals and communities through the practical application of objective, up-to-date, research-based knowledge. As an extension of Cornell University, we deliver accessible lifelong learning opportunities to audiences that include youth, families, landowners, and farm and business operators.

If you are interested in positively impacting your community and can attend a board meeting one evening per month, please email a brief paragraph about your work and volunteer experiences to Debbie SeGuin, at dmv5@cornell.edu or call 684-3001, ext. 107.

If you would like more information about CCE, please visit our website at www.ccemadisoncounty.org and follow us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/ccemadison. CCE is an equal opportunity employer and provider.
